We take a tour to the Mud Volcano. Its about 50km north of Cartagena. We buy it at the reception of Media Luna hostel. Its 35000 per person 42000 with lunch. Every time I buy such a tour I promise to myself that its the last time Im doing that but there I am again. Although the guide was funny its always hurry hurry youre standing in the line to get somewhere and then go go go. But if you really need to take it its better to book it with lunch it pays off and its in a nice fishing bay outside of the city. It was supposed to take all day but we were back by 1 and it was supposed to start 8.30 but of course we were waiting at least half an hour for the minibus to pick everyone up. The volcano its not a volcano you would imagine and is not like any you might have seen. It really doesnt look like a volcano at all which is why some people from what we heard cannot believe its real. Its just a small hill which you climb up the wooden stairs and you go down the ladder inside the crater which is supposed to be 2000m deep full with liquid mud in which you are floating. Everything on the spot costs 3000. You leave all youre things (including passport and money, you just need slippers, swimming suit and camera) in the lockers and pay 3000 for the camera guy who will be taking photos of you while youre all covered in mud. You can take a mud massage inside the volcano also for 3000 but the guys doing that were kind of disgusting so I didnt want any of them touching me. Mud is supposed to have some healing properties like the one from Dead Sea and I must say the skin feels really soft after such a bath. After you go out (there was a bunch of people waiting so we were allowed to have 15min only) you go to wash yourself in a nice nearby lake or can have yourself washed by older ladies (also 3000) "like your mother did 20 years ago". Just watch out girls tits like to jump out of bras during this :) although I could complain about the tour the volcano itself is definitely fun.

Because we didnt book lunch and we thought it will take whole day (they told us will be back around 3 but with all the delays we thought it will be longer and we will have more time to enjoy ourselved there) we didnt plan anything for the afternoon. We didnt wanna go to the beach again so we found out there is a bazaar. Its called Mercado de Basurto and its quite far from Getsemani so we took a taxi for 7000 one way. The market itself is similar to the ones you can find in other countries - you can find literary everything there, its mess and loud but I like such places and you can get a cheap food there.

After coming back to the center and doing some shopping for next day trip we went out for some drinks in Media Luna. We stopped at the bar in Mamallena hostel which is next to the most crowded pub. In most of them there are some happy hours like 2 drinks for the price of one so after few promotions like this we made friends with bartender and started playing some Polish reggae there. What a feeling to listen to Bless in a bar in Colombia..
