unplanned stop

getting from chiang mai - 150thb pp there are only minibuses that leave every hour so its better to book in advance, it takes 3 hours to get there and the road is very twisty so if someone has motion sickness better take some pills

accommodation:
Pai in the Sky next to bus station bungalow for 3 people for 350thb
recommended - Common Grounds next to it or bungalows on the other side of the river throught the bamboo brigde straight from the main street

activities:
there are a lot of waterfalls and some hot springs around the town so most people rent a scooter for 100thb/day (+80 insurance) and drive around
in comparison taxi to get to mor pang waterfalls is 400thb there and back (2h there, careful sliding down the waterfall)
there is also nice outside swimming pool all day entrance 60thb

nightlife:
as most places are closing at midnight and theres just few pubs/clubs opened longer usually the whole party crowd is just moving from one place to another
Edible Jazz Bar - try to get there for concert of Hvetter, Israeli guy looping guitar - amazing
Bebop - rock bar with life music thai band playing covers opened longer a little outside of town near gas station
Yellow Sun pub - on the road right at the end of the walking street parallel to the river leading to the big bridge
Bamboo Bar and Dont Cry bar - the last stops on the party map of the town at the other side of the big brigde opened till 3am
